About the event

Join us for a four-week series where you can learn the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). The course will be taught by Signing Basics, based in Springfield, MA. The course and materials (emailed directly to you from Signing Basics) are free for all participants. The course will run on Mon Mar 15, Mon Mar 22, Mon Mar 29, and Mon Apr 5 from 6:00 to 6:45 PM EST.

This fun course will help students build a usable sign language vocabulary and beginners' level ASL structure. Students will receive homework assignments to help them retain the information they learn during the class. Students who participate in all four weeks of the ASL Basics course will learn:

  • The manual alphabet
  • The days of the week
  • Negation and Affirmations when conversing in ASL
  • ASL Sentence Structure
  • How to ask questions
  • Basic conversational phrases

You must commit to attending all four 45-minute courses and register for them by Sunday, March 14th at 12pm. Space is limited, so please let us know ASAP if you cannot attend after you've registered. Please note that multiple household members are welcome to participate from the same screen, but please register only one household member.

You will receive a class invite directly from Signing Basics on the day of the first class, Mon Mar 15.
