Beyond the Stacks Writing Group

7:00 - 7:45 PM EST: We read and offer feedback to a writer who offered their writing to be workshopped. Attendees read the piece before the meeting and discuss it while the author listens in and takes notes on their feedback. The writer than has time to reply and ask questions of their readers in the final ten minutes of their workshop time.

7:45 - 8:30 PM EST: We read a brief passage, poem, or quotation from an author that someone identifies as moving or in some way well crafted writing. Then we write in response to a prompt derived from that passage for 15 minutes. This is time to play, experiment, and respond to new writing craft techniques or topics. Remainder of time is spent sharing.
